Document Controller

Role Description

Supporting our UK grid scale business, the role will involve a focus on battery energy solutions, grid scale, as well as some potential for solar and other activities, such as EV infrastructure.

The person will work as part of a small dynamic team to help with the origination and delivery of projects in the energy sector, creating a robust document management system.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Compilation and processing of project and portfolio information to support the project managers in the delivery of their projects (reports/trackers/answering queries, etc.)
  • Oversight and management of team actions and portfolio progress trackers, including file management and data rooms – ensuring datasets are complete and filing standards are upheld
  • Supporting project managers in collection, review and storage of project documents – design documents, as-builts etc., and tracking any documentation supplied as part of any contracts and/or agreements
  • Liaison with consultants and suppliers to assist with the conduct of work (chasing and reviewing contracts, invoices, etc.)
  • Analyse data and compile reports for management and board reviewSupport the office manager with the administrative tasks of the development team (eg.travel, other bookings, etc.)
  • Build and continually review processes associated with the role
  • Attend external meetings, company or industry events as required
  • Generally, support the development and delivery teams to ensure that the team’s, and the company’s, goals and objectives are met

Key Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience and knowledge of working for an ISO9001 certified business
  • Understanding of industry best practices with regards to document control
  • Experience in administrative roles, preferably with some experience of governance in respective areas.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple actions simultaneously
  • Proficiency in business/task/ file management software
  • Positive attitude to getting involved in work and proactive in taking on tasks to support the team
  • Familiar with contracting and invoicing processes
  • Knowledge of renewables/UK energy system an advantage
